New chute shear for COMETFER’s San Giorgio di Nogaro plant
COMETFER further upgraded its San Giorgio di Nogaro plant with a new chute shear resulting from a strategic partnership with Officine Meccaniche Danieli.
The shear, with a nominal cutting capacity of 2400 tonnes, represents a significant evolution in the industrial sector thanks to its advanced features. This innovative device integrates mechanical and hydraulic components controlled by an electrical control unit that exploits the gravity force of the material to optimise the preparation for compression cutting.
To improve operations and reduce environmental impact, the shear has been designed with underground foundations that lower the scrap loading level relative to the surrounding floor. This innovative solution improves energy efficiency by reducing material handling consumption and contributes to a positive environmental impact by limiting noise pollution and simplifying lubricant management.
This shear is a unique example of energy efficiency and environmental sustainability due to its substantial reliance on electricity and significant photovoltaic support.
The automated blade changing system, which enables blade removal and replacement external to the machine and ensures optimal safety and speed of operation without direct user participation, is another significant advance.
The Danieli shear not only promotes efficiency and technological innovation but also reflects COMETFER’s commitment to successful business strategies focusing on energy efficiency, worker safety, and environmental sustainability.
