COMETFER and Zato: a partnership for sustainability

What has distinguished COMETFER from the start is its commitment to the environment, demonstrated not only by securing all the licenses and certifications required to conduct its operations but also by actively participating through thoughtful, environmentally friendly decisions.

In this perspective falls our partnership with Zato, an Italian company specialising in the production of equipment for the recovery and recycling of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap.

The introduction of the Zato Blue Devil shear in our production process in San Stino di Livenza has not only increased our efficiency but has also become an environmentally neutral solution. I In fact, this machinery is powered by electricity from a photovoltaic plant covering more than 4,500 square metres.

Interviewed by Recycling magazine, Francesco Costa, our Management Administrative

Director, commented on COMETFER’s green soul: “Ever since we installed our first 200 kWh photovoltaic system in 2010, we have thought that self-producing energy was the right choice, also consistent with our company policy. Of course, we were not self-sufficient then; today, we are and even sell the energy surplus to the grid.

Making the supply chain greener is one of our goals, and we try to pursue it by adopting sustainable solutions and choosing the right partners. With the right partners, the road to sustainability is easier!
